What is Glucosamine?
It is simple molecule that contains glucose.
It is available as a supplement and is sold in two forms, glucosamine sulphate and N-acetyl-glucosamine (NAG).
Why is it needed?
The body uses it to form larger molecules for cartilage repair and maintenance.
Where is it found?
It is found in the joints and the connective tissues.
What conditions has it been used to treat?
It is seen as one of the best treatments for arthritis, providing significant relief from the pain and discomfort associated with this condition. It is especially good at treating osteoarthritis and has also been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis and other joint problems.

Dosage
For arthritis take 1500mg daily split into three doses. Take it with food or it may upset your stomach and be prepared to take it for a long period of time. It starts to show signs of working after about two to eight weeks. This supplement it safe to take with other supplements and herbs, but if you are unsure consult a qualified heath-care practitioner.
Side Effects
Nausea, but this only usually occurs if you take it on an empty stomach. Although there have been no long-term studies, practitioners believe that it is a safe supplement to take as it has no other side-effects.
