Where is it found?
It is found in nuts, wheat germ, leafy green vegetables, beet-tops, pineapple and seeds.
What happens if you are deficient?

Secondary:
- Hypoglycaemia
- Minor injuries
How much is normally taken?
Supplementing with this mineral may be of benefit, yet a good multivitamin should contain all the manganese you need.
Are there any contraindications or side effects?
The levels of manganese found in multivitamins are not enough to produce toxic levels in the body.
Individuals with cirrhosis of the liver should not take manganese as they may not be able to excrete this mineral.
Calcium and iron hinder the absorption of manganese.
